Valley First Community Bank Appoints Arizona Banker President

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.The board of directors of Valley First Community Bank has appointed local banker Frank Shelton president of the bank and member of the board of directors. Shelton assumes the leadership position of former bank president Judy Egan.

"Frank is an excellent addition to Valley First Community Bank," said John S. Lewis, the bank's chairman. "His industry, as well as management experience, combined with his commitment to this community will ensure a smooth leadership transition. Our goal is to continue to serve the financial needs of the businesses and people of Scottsdale and the surrounding communities."

"Since opening in 1997, Valley First Community Bank has become an integral member of the community and has not lost sight of our goal of being a hometown bank," said Lewis. "We have a strong and experienced team in place and offer all banking services. We have grown financially and I am extremely pleased to see that this focus will be further strengthened with the appointment of Frank to the leadership position."

Shelton is a second generation Arizona native and has more than 24 years of financial services experience and has held various positions in commercial lending as well as credit review and management. He has spent the majority of his career with two lenders; Farm Credit Services Southwest and First Interstate Bank (Well Fargo Bank).

He earned a masters of business administration from University of Phoenix. He also has a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona. He also serves on numerous civic organizations including the Maricopa Agricultural Center Advisory, and he formerly served as president, secretary and treasurer of the University of Arizona Phoenix Area East Valley Alumni Club.

"I am a huge proponent of community banking and it is extremely rewarding for me to be part of an organization that can contribute to the economic health of our community on many different fronts," said Shelton. "It is my goal to continue on the course that has been set by the bank's founders and board members and take our bank to the next level in its growth."
